Yoga is a form of exercise that benefits everyone alike. Every individual old, young, male, female, overweight or underweight can enjoy the benefits of yoga. the essence of yoga are its poses or asanas. Yoga is a great to calm your mind after an intense day. 

So roll your mats and lets get started with a few yoga basics 

1. Child's pose 

Child's pose is a good stretch for back and arms. this pose is mostly used as a rest pose to between two stretches. You can use a pillow to rest your head and make it more comfortable.

Good: after a long day of using laptop or sitting

Bad: for pregnancy and people with knee issues

2. Downward dog

 This pose increases strength in arms and shoulders and is good for an extensive leg stretch. You can bend your knees to focus on shoulders or put your elbows on the floor to get a stronger stretch in the hamstrings.

Good: after an intense workout

Bad: for people with weak wrists

3. Plank

This is a full body strengthening pose which builds the core. It also increases strength in arms and shoulders. This pose can be modified in many ways; reverse plank, side plank, spider plank etc.

Good: for lengthening neck and spine

Bad: for people with weak wrists

4. Cobra Pose

This pose increases flexibility of spine. It focuses on shoulders, arms, back and neck simultaneously. 

Good: for back stretch

Bad: for people with arthritis

The point of yoga isn't to be perfect, rather it is to strive for perfection.
